getaway
2010
My very first album is more of a collection. Some pieces I had lying around for literally years, while others I created just a few months before finishing the album.
Putting the whole thing together was challenging, time-consuming, and sometimes tiresome. But in the end, I’m very proud of the result.
It’s not perfect, and it won’t be to everyone’s taste. At first, I didn’t intend to publish these pieces because I felt they were my very own personal music, something that I myself would like to hear.
Each song tells its own story, taking me back to the moments when I created these pieces. When creating these tracks, it was mainly about experimentation and the urge to express myself through sound.
“getaway" is like a journey, a musical escape to somewhere.

It started with a simple slow beat and some easy chords. I think I was just listening to that one Portishead song. When I was recording the main chords with the Rhodes piano, everything came together quite fast. However, I finished that instrumental much later. Despite this, I think I still captured the original mood of the song.
forever
Created in 2010
I recorded this one in just a few days. I still don’t know how I did it. The reason for this rush was that the song was supposed to be an entry for a music contest. Unfortunately, I missed the deadline, but I still got a great instrumental out of it!
birds
Created in 2009
One day, I had the idea to go outside and record sounds like flowing water, wind, walking in a forest, and… birds. I brought home the recordings, and the idea for this instrumental started to take form. At first, it was an 11-minute track. Maybe I’ll release that version too. Even though I like long tracks, like those by Pink Floyd, it felt a little boring. So, I cut it down to about 9 minutes. It’s a little less boring now.

That feeling when you long to be with someone and it just won’t happen. This song always takes me back to those bittersweet moments. She’s always been an inspiration to me in some way. One of my most personal tracks.
speed

Being a huge Parliament/Funkadelic fan, I wanted to try my own blend of a fast and funky track. The result is not P-Funk at all, but it's still kind of funky.
far away
Created around 2001
During those times, I would create instrumentals just so I could loop them and improvise over them. I spent hours and hours doing just that. When I was jamming over this chord progression, it felt like my mind was going on a journey far away. I really feel at home with this kind of ambient instrumentals.
tired

I had this instrumental lying around for a while and almost forgot about it. When I ‘rediscovered’ it, I just knew what to do with it. I remember that I wasn’t in the best place at that time, so I poured all my feelings into this track. The entire solo is recorded in one take. It’s very raw and imperfect. Perfect.

As the track name implies, I got lost in the moment and recorded two long takes of something a-rhythmical but luckily in the same key. When I combined the tracks (and with some editing), it became something quite special. It’s definitely weird, but when I listen to it, it always takes me to distant places.
moon (bonus track)

This is one of my very early tracks. I was just learning how to use DAWs, so I’m still a bit surprised at how I managed to arrange this track. I guess I had a lot more time back then, and I was really into making very long tracks.

This is also one of the earlier tracks. I came up with this arpeggio riff that seemed hypnotic and dream-like. The rest followed quite easily. I wanted to create a calm ambient instrumental, but it turned out a bit more melancholic than expected. I like that.
